The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames has entered into a strategic ICT and eGovernment partnership with ITNET under a 10-year contract valued at £36 million, it was announced today.
The agreement will see the transfer of the Council's ICT assets and IT staff to ITNET.
The company will be providing the Borough with a range of services including IT management and support, helpdesk and consultancy. As part of a major IT transformation programme, ITNET will introduce new finance, purchasing and document imaging systems, as well as develop the Council's website to offer interactive and transactional services for citizens.
ITNET said in a statement it would be working with the Borough to "develop business cases that enable the Council to gain increased business benefit from the use of information technology and process change."
"The focal point will be the strategic development of the e-government strategy and a citizen-focused Contact Centre", it continued.
