|TfL 'Plans New Street Gazetteer'|

Transport for London (TfL) is reported to be looking to develop a new regional street gazetteer, drawing together records from local authorities, to help reduce traffic congestion in the capital.
TfL will be awarding a contract for the project later month, according to Computer Weekly magazine today. The new system will apparently include enhancements and improvements on current text-based street gazetters, such as grid references to help pinpoint the location of streets.
