Barnet Launches New Online Contact Service

London Borough of Barnet

25 March 2003

Barnet Council has introduced a new feature on its website providing residents with a single point of contact for all enquiries.

The service will also allow residents to respond online to consultation exercises conducted by the Council. The move follows a review by the local authority on how it could best deliver an effective and efficient contact service for the public.

Councillor Mike Freer, Cabinet Member for Value and Effectiveness commented: "This new service will bring us into line with other websites operated by other London Boroughs and allow us to provide a more responsive, customer-focused service that residents can use to talk to the council.

"Up until now our website has provided several points of contact for people asking questions or requesting information. By replacing these with a single form for all queries we will be able to streamline the way we deal with requests coming into us. This will help us to respond more quickly."

He added: "This new system will also allow us to monitor what issues are being raised regularly and this will help us improve delivery in all service areas and fulfil our commitment of putting the community first."
