7 May 2003
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister is to host a event this month providing an insight into the role of the National Projects and how they contribute to implementing the local eGovernment agenda.
Parliament has given approval for £80 million of funding to support 12 National Projects which will provide the framework for the future development of local eGovernment, covering areas such as interactive digital television, smartcards and personalised local service websites
The London event will focus on how local authorities can become involved in the projects, as well as the role of the private sector in their delivery. An exhibition of the National Projects will be held alongside the conference where delegates can find out more information on individual projects.
Details of the event are available on the e-Government @ Local website.
