|Draft IEG3 Guidance Published|
7 May 2003
A draft version of the guidance notes for local authorities developing their third Implementing Electronic Government (IEG3) statement has been released for consultation. Comments are requested on the proposed new proforma format for IEG3 returns by 9 June 2003. Final guidance will be issued at the end of June 2003, and according to the document, the deadline for submission of IEG3 statements will be Friday, 31 October 2003.
This year, the format of the IEG3 return is intended to simplify the process further for local authorities and move towards a self-assessment approach. In order to maintain consistency with the statistical elements of IEG2, tables on BVPI 157, access channel take-up and resources remain unchanged from last year. Local authorities are asked to summarise the plans and progress according to the six parts of model of the local e-organisation, as presented in the ODPM's National Strategy for Local e-Government published in November 2002.
