|London Councils in New Innovations Forum|

The Local Government Association announced today the first meeting of the new Innovations Forum comprising representatives from 22 top-performing local authorities.
The stated purpose of the Forum is to discover, trial and implement new ways for central and local government to work towards improving people's quality of life; provide better public services; co-ordinate services at local level; deliver both national and local priorities, and enhance the role of local authorities.
Six London authorities will be taking part in the Forum, which will initially consider four themes: Citizen-centred local services; school improvement; community safety and care of the elderly.
