A new Local eGovernment Standards Body was launched today as one of a number of National Projects announced by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The new authority has been established to ensure that the national local eGovernment strategy is supported with effective standards and mechanisms to exploit existing projects, products and services.
Its primary aim will be to provide easy access to comprehensive and authorititive best practice and information on local service interoperability standards, analysis and development of standards and scrutiny of eGovernment projects. Its customers will be councils, their partners and suppliers.
