10 June 2003
New research released yesterday by Freeview, the free-to-air digital television service, indicates that previously hard-to-reach groups are buying adapters in significant numbers.
Early figures on take-up of the service show that two out of five customers are aged over 55, almost three-quarters of buyers are aged 35 or above, and that approval ratings for the new technology are high. A total of more than 800,000 adapters have been sold since the product's launch in October.
