|National Project Seeks iDTV Pilots|
11 August 2003
Local authorities and regional development agencies are being invited to become pilot areas for an interactive digital television (DTV) project that will provide a framework for the future development of local eGovernment.
The call has been issued by DigiTV, one of the 16 National Projects sponsored by the Deputy Prime Minister's Office to support the national local eGovernment strategy. The project team is currently actively seeking the engagement of a combination of local authorities and RDAs to pilot one of the four key deliverables, a 'Starter Kit' product designed to provide an entry-level DTV presence on any platform. A total of 12 organisations will be accepted, representing according to DigiTV, "a diverse spread of authorities with a range of infrastructures, local community and channel strategies." Local authorities are not required to have any previous experience or even have considered DTV to be chosen as a pilot.
Interested parties can register their interest in the Starter Kit and other key deliverables from the project online here
