|China Visits Brent for eGovernment Advice|
1 December 2003
A 20-strong delegation from China's central and provisional government has visited Brent to study the Council's approach to e-service delivery.
Last week's visit, arranged through Sino-Bridge International, was led by the Deputy Director General of China's State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform, Liu Zhenglei. The officials were shown Brent's contact centre, met with Council leader Cllr Ann John and were taken through the services available through the council's website.
"The concept of e-Government is new in China and the delegation particularly wanted to see how they can make a start in this area and the type of services we provide," said Director of Corporate Services at Brent Council, Bernard Diamant.
