|Home Lettings Scheme Wins European Award|
3 December 2003
An online choice-based home lettings service established by a partnership of London bodies and housing associations has received recognition as one of the leading examples of local eGovernment in Europe.
The scheme has won the Re-engineering of Local Public Services category in this year's awards from the Telecities network of European local authorities for ICT in public administration.
The Home Connections project is the only project from the UK to have won one of the four TeleCities awards - winners of the other awards were cities from Finland and Germany.
The London Borough of Camden submitted the application on behalf of Home Connections, a partnership spanning across the London Boroughs of Islington, Barnet, Westminster City Council, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, plus two housing associations - Ujima and SPH Housing.
