|Met Upgrades 999 Call Handling|

Computing magazine today features a report on how the Metropolitan Police Authority are implementing a new call handling system to improve its capability to respond to emergency calls.
The initiative forms part of the Met's Command, Control and Information Project (C3i) which is designed to deal effectively with the increasing demand placed on the 999 emergency call system.
The software will allow non-emergency calls to be routed away from 999 lines and is expected to go live in October following system testing.
