|UpMyStreet Puts All Local Authorities on Digital TV|
14 November 2002
Every local authority in the UK can now be contacted via digital television through a new service launched today by interactive information provider UpMyStreet.
The service, available to BSkyB digital satellite subscribers, provides users with access to information and contact details for their council, as well as the facility to send email messages to their local authority.
UpMyStreets Location Mapping Engine tailors the content so that the public is automatically served the local services that are specific and relevant to their own area. Users can also view information for other local authorities simply by changing the featured postcode.
Email messages sent through the service will be identifiable as ones initiated from UpMyStreet, allowing recipients to gauge the impact of digital television access in their region.
