Harrow Council has launched a texting service as part of its increased consultation with residents and businesses.
The service is being tested in South Harrow as part of the New Harrow Project, a scheme to target council services more effectively.

Residents and businesses in the area can now report faults such as failing street lights or holes in the road by sending a text to the council using their mobile phone. The issue will then be dealt with by Harrow's customer service representatives.

Council leader Cllr Archie Foulds said: 'We hope that by moving with the times and using new technology available to us whilst still retaining traditional methods, we will be able to work effectively in local areas. I would encourage residents of South Harrow to save the number in their mobile phones now because you never know when you might need it.'
