Sixteen community groups have been selected to receive a total of almost £4.5 million to invest in new technology, the Government announced today.
The Home Office funding will allow the voluntary and community organisations to make use of IT to boost their work supporting local people in deprived areas.
Projects will include an on-line mentoring support service and an IT support package for social entrepreneurs.
Home Secretary David Blunkett made the announcement at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) annual conference in London today.
