Towards an electronic Government strategy for London
London Connects is a one-day conference - to be held at the British Library on Wednesday 11th October 2000 - which aims to promote the development of an electronic Government strategy for London.
Organised by the London Boroughs of Camden, Lewisham and Newham, and SLIM - the London Branch of SOCITM - the event is targeted at senior politicians and senior managers from all the London boroughs, and other major public sector organisations in the region.
As well as a host of interesting and informative speakers we are pleased to be able to confirm that Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London has confirmed that he will be attending and we look forward to welcoming delegates from all over London.
The conference will be broadcast live over the Internet by CommunicatingLive. Delegates will be able to watch the proceedings and participate via e-mail and discussion fora. CommunicatingLive is wholly owned by Lewis Live Ltd, a live events agency with over 20 years of experience in handling conferences and events for the public and private sector.
The conference is for Members and senior officers from all London boroughs, the Mayor of London and GLA, MPs and MEPs, and representatives from other public bodies and key voluntary sector organisations.
It aims to ensure that London citizens get the best from the Information Society by:
